If a journey is over a slightly longer distance, travel by rail can be a great travel option.
Cross Gates station is just 1km from Meadowgate Point, which is a walk of around 15-minutes. From Cross Gates trains run every half an hour to Leeds Station – a journey that takes just nine minutes. The station sits on the York and Selby line, with other direct destinations including Garforth, East Garforth, Micklefield, York and Selby.
Using a MetroCard you can access all public transport services in West Yorkshire, so you can even use the bus for one part of your journey and a train for another.
As a new resident at Meadowgate Point you (or a member of the household) are entitled to a FREE annual MCard.
The easiest way to plan a journey by train is to use a website such as National Rail Enquiries. Simply select the station you wish to travel from and to, and the dates/times, and the planner will not only tell you which trains you could catch, but will also tell you how much your journey will cost and then let you book your tickets.
